Alpine Tracker

Alpine Tracker is a promo unit card from the Eternal card game. It belongs to both the Fire and Primal factions.

Alpine Tracker was released in May 2017 as part of the Distant Lands promo and is the first unit card in the (as yet unnamed) Fire/Primal faction combo.

What Does Alpine Tracker Do?

Alpine Tracker has the charge skill, allowing it to attack the same turn that it enters the battlefield. More important than that is is special Summon skill: when Alpine Tracker is played, it deals 1 damage to every other unit on the battlefield, plus one damage to each layer.

One damage might not sound like much, but it will be enough to clear the board of an army of weak tokens such as Grenadin. For more powerful units the one damage won; hurt them... but it will remove any Aegis they have. So it's a cheap and easy way to de-Aegis the entire enemy army along with the enemy character.

Remember that this card also does 1 damage to each of your units. Which doesn't sound like a good thing but might be if you have low health cards with strong Entomb skills. Imagine playing Alpine Tracker when you already have a few card like Ticking Grenadin, Rebel Illuminator and Bait on the battlefield...

I suspect there are other imaginative uses for this card that I haven't thought of yet, it'll be interesting to see how they do in the meta.
