Battle Skill
Ongoing Effect

"Can only be blocked by other units with Flying."

Flying is one of the unit Skills in Eternal. It's a Battle Skill so it only takes effect once a unit has been played on the battlefield. All factions have Flying units, Primal especially so.

There's no icon to indicate a Flying unit, instead it's animated to 'hover' slightly above the battlefield with a shadow underneath.

What Does Flying Do?

Flying in Eternal works the same way as in many other games: a unit with Flying can only be blocked by an enemy unit which also has Flying. Otherwise it will soar right over its head! However a unit with Flying can block an attack by a ground unit.

Most Flying units start with this skill. However it is also possible for units to be given Flying - either temporarily or permanently - by the use of a card such as Levitate or Flight Lieutenant. If your opponent lacks Flying units then this can be a good way of launching a surprise attack.

Some units such as Blood Beetle gain Flying after a successful Infiltrate.

Flying can be removed from a unit by use of Silence.
