Rilgon, Hooru Operative

Rilgon, Hooru Operative is a rare unit card from the Eternal card game. It has joint allegiance with the Justice and Primal factions.

This card was introduced in early 2017 as part of the Azindel's Ways promotion. It was the first unit from the Hooru faction combo.

What Does Rilgon, Hooru Operative Do?

This is a strange card. On its own it doesn't do much, but it can become very powerful with its potential buffs.

Playing a weapon on Rilgon (note that the card specifies weapon, not any attachment) gives him Aegis. That's useful as he is likely to be the target of your opponent's kill spells. However the real strength of this comes with his other buff...

Any turn where you cast a spell Rilgon has double damage that turn. So the combination of playing a weapon on Rilgon then casting a spell gives you a very powerful attack unit that turn. And, of course, units in Eternal can wield more than one weapon. (Remember though that Double Damage doesn't stack - so playing two spells in a turn doesn't give you quadruple damage. That would be silly.)

Imagine playing a Gilded Glaive on Rilgon, then playing a Power card, then playing Crystallize... then doing it again next turn!

At the time of writing this card is very new so I've yet to see it in play. I expect it to prove very powerful but to require a deck specifically built around it and played with a lot of skill.
