What Does Azindel's Gift Do?
Despite the name this card is definitely not a gift you'd want to receive! It's a curse. Being a relic it's an attachment played on the main character (face) rather than a unit. Normally you play this card on your opponent - in theory you could play it on yourself, but I haven't been able to think of a good reason for doing so.
As the card text says, the player to whom this card is attached must discard their entire hand at the end of their turn. That can be devastating, especially if you have a great card you were just waiting for enough power to play. It also leaves you with few or no options on the next turn.
This card can work especially well if combined with Black Iron Manacles.
Potentially this is a very powerful card. The problem with it is the power cost of 7. By the time you get to that stage of the game the players will probably only have one or two cards left in their hand at the end of each turn, which vastly reduces the impact of Azindel's Gift. You could try combining it in a deck build with Combrei Emissary, but that make be a three faction deck and it might then be hard to get the 3 Shadow influence you need. A better option would probably be Initiate Of The Sands.
If you do get hit by Azindel's Gift, how do you get rid of it? Well although it's attached to your character it counts as an 'enemy attachment' so cards like Decay, Furnace Mage and Ruin are effective against it.
