Deathstrike

Deathstrike is an Uncommon spell card from the Eternal card game. It belongs to the Shadow faction.

What Does Deathstrike Do?

Deathstrike does exactly what it says on the tin: it kills a unit. It doesn't matter how strong or weak the target is, it doesn't matter what faction it belongs to. It's lights out, the unit dies and goes to the Void.

As a potent removal card, Deathstrike is a mainstay of Shadow based decks. The only ways to avoid its effect is to have your unit protected with an Aegis or to cancl the spell with one of your own such as Backlash.

Note that this isn't just a spell, it's a 'Fast Spell'. That means that - if you have enough Power left over - you can use it on your opponent's turn.

And since the text on the card doesn't say 'enemy unit', you can play it on your own units. Why would you want to do that? Well, you might want to trigger the Entomb effect of a card such as Umbren Reaper or Bait. Or you might want to kill off one of your units affected by Permafrost so you can bring it back with Dark Return or Grasping At Shadows.
