Note: The Omens Of The Past card set was released on 14th July 2017. Details on this page are based on first impressions and may need to be updated later.

Hipshot is an uncommon spell card from the Eternal card game. It belongs to the Fire faction.

What Does Hipshot Do?

Hipshot is a simple direct action burn card: when you play it you do 2 damage to a target of your choice. That target might include one of your own units, for example Bait.

At first glance Hipshot - 2 damage for 3 power - compares badly with Torch - 3 damage for 1 power. So why would you put this car in your deck? Well, Hipshot features the new Warp mechanic allowing it to be played directly from the top of your deck. This tempo advantage could prove extremely useful.

In addition, Torch is a fast spell, making it useful to keep in reserve for your opponent's turn. Hipshot provides an alternative that you can use on your turn, holding back the Torch in case you need it later.

At this stage I'm not sure whether or not the benefits of Hipshot outweigh the extra costs, it'll be interesting to see what sort of place it has in the deck builds that come out once Omens Of The Past is released.
