Seek Power

Seek Power is a Common spell card from the Eternal card game. It's a factionless card and so has no influence requirement to play. It's one of the few factionless cards worth using in a deck build!

What Does Seek Power Do?

When you play this card you get to choose one sigil from your deck and add it to your hand. This counts as a 'draw', so if your chosen card has Echo (for example because of Voice Of The Speaker) then you also get a second copy. Note that you can only draw a sigil and not any other power related cards such as Monuments.

I have to admit that when I started playing Eternal I didn't recognise the value of this card. Why not just include another Power card and save yourself the point of power? Well it turns out I was wrong and this is an extremely useful card.

For me, the biggest reason to use Seek Power is to reduce the chance of the RNG shafting you. If you're playing a two faction deck then sometimes the RNG will give you lots of power cards from one faction and few or none from the other faction - meaning that you lack the influence to play half your hand. Seek Power lets you to compensate at least a little for that by guaranteeing a power card you actually need.

Another valuable use for this card is that is gives you something profitable to do when you have one power left at the end of the turn. You can use Seek Power rather than wasting that point and ensure that you're going to have at least one power card to play next turn.

These days I include at least one Seek Power in every deck I build. The only possible exceptions would be monochrome decks.
